Jo Ann Worley, 87, passed away peacefully at Maple Grove Nursing Home in Ashburn, Virginia on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 with family by her side.  Jo Ann was born on September 7, 1933 in Berkley County, West Virginia, to Bernard Nelson Whittington and Bertha Link Whittington.  As a child at age 6, she was relocated with her family to Dunn Loring, Virginia, where she grew up and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1951.  It was in Dunn Loring that she met the love of her life, Frazier Claiborne Worley (husband of 53 years) and the two were married on August 28, 1952.  They remained there most of their lives while raising their three children and attended Dunn Loring United Methodist church. Later in life, they relocated to Ashburn, Virginia, where Jo Ann remained until her passing.

Jo Ann worked many years for the Fairfax County School System, first as a Special Education bus driver for ten years and then in a position with the Attendance and Records office for various county schools, including George C. Marshall High School.  She and Frazier served together in ministry as well and in 1983, when Frazier retired from the Alexandria Police Department, she joined him in serving at Christian Fellowship Church in Ashburn, Virginia where Frazier was on staff for many years.  Jo Ann served as office assistant at the church and supported Frazier in various ministry activities until his passing in 2007.  After his death, she continued to work at the church for about 10 years until an injury from a fall forced her to retire in 2017. They loved and were loved by many at Christian Fellowship Church and considered their ministry years there a highlight of their lives.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard Nelson Whittington and Bertha Link Whittington, as well as her husband Frazier C. Worley and her Brother-In-Law and Sister Morris and Billie Wheeler, Brother-In-Law and Sister-In-Law Robert and Martha Nolan and Brothers-In-Law G. Ray Worley and Richard Stanley Plaugher.
