Kenny, my heart aches that one of my dearest friends is gone. I can't comprehend the loss. I met Bert in 1979 when we both worked at Intel. We were always at each other's apartments and having fun doing anything together...cracking walnuts her Dad gave her and fighting over the darker ones because they were sweeter, going to flea markets and just hanging out together. We also shared my apartment for several months so she could have it after I married in 1983 and moved to Ohio. In fact, Berta was a bridesmaid in our wedding. She walked with my older sister's husband who thought she looked like Farrah Fawcett...and she DID! Berta always knew just the right thing to make me laugh hysterically. We would laugh and laugh.... I am so thankful we were able to see her this last week. I will forever love her and cherish the memories we made together. We are praying for you and the kids that God will put His arms around you and provide the peace and comfort that only HE can provide. All our love, Jeff and Lavonn

And Kenny, Roberta ALWAYS told me what a caring and loving husband you were to her and a dear father to the kids. She repeatedly told me that YOU were the best thing to EVER come into her life. She loved you so VERY much!

We were shocked and saddened to receive the news of Roberta's passing. We relocated to Buffalo several years ago but fondly remember Natasha and Roberta from girl scouts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I can not believe my best friend is no longer here with me to share our many fun phone conversations. I went to high school with Roberta, and we always stayed in touch over the years. I'am saddened that I did not get a chance to see Roberta, hold her hand and kiss her on the cheek to say goodbye. I did not know she was sick. This is one of the most horrible things I have had to face in life I'am devastated my best friend is gone. Love you, Roberta !

Kenny, although we have never met, I had met Roberta a few times. I am the twin sis to Lavonn. She and Bert were great friends and it was evident in how they kept in contact and still remained friends after all the years...and always just "picked right up" whenever they got a chance to see each other. I will be praying for you and your family...she will be missed greatly but I know that she will be kept alive in your hearts with your memories of her. Larell

Oh my, what can I say -------------I'm at a loss for words, but that's not new, something you've always known. My dear friend, a special bond since the sixth grade at Sierra View, Mr. Taylor's class. You brought a whole new view of life to me, with your experiences and slightly offbeat sense of humor at times. Always there for me whenever I needed you. So sorry, Kenny, you have to go on alone raising your family. But, knowing Roberta, she left you with more directions on what to do than you can probably ever carry out. Please know that she is in a safe place, somewhere she can be with lost loved ones, and somewhere she will be waiting to greet all of us to come. Roberta I miss you so much - you have left a hole in me and so many. May peace come to your family soon and the strength to live the kind of life you wish for them. I love you and always have. Carmen

I just heard the sad news of Berta's passing from my brother in Chico... I was friends with Berta in high school and used to give her a hard time that she would walk in such a way that her amazing, thick long hair would toss left to right... she insisted it wasn't intentional. We bantered about that and many other things as she was such a beautiful and funny girl; always cracking me up. Last I saw her was at our 30 year reunion & I regret not keeping in contact over the years. I pray that God's love holds up her family and friends during this difficult time.
