I am several months late in finding this news and it saddens me deeply. We would go several months between texts but could always pick right back up like it was yesterday. Jim was a selfless, giving, kind hearted and loving man. He is missed dearly.

Absolutely, my most sincerest condolences to his family -- especially to his mom and dad. I remember attending the twins baptism which doesn't seem that long ago. Life has so many ups and downs -- some of which we can't understand. Knowing Jimmy's commitment to his faith, family and friends, he's looking down and saying I'm OK; I'm with my eternal family in heaven. I'll keep Jimmy and his family in my prayers.

My prayers are with you all. Jim served on the board at US Ice Rinks when I was Chair of the education Committee. His input was always passionate and right on point. I later became President of US Ice Rinks, and I always missed Jim's input after he left the board. He really cared! I did not know Jim outside of our professional relationship, but it didn't take much to realize his dedication and compassion. I am confident his UNSELFISH nature has him in a great place with our creator. Your personal loss, can only be tempered by the smile and memories you will experience remembering a life well lived. Jim was extraordinarily kind and would do anything for you. I’m lucky to have been able to call him a friend. One of our favorite things to do was attend spring training games when he worked for the Phoenix Coyotes. We went to so many one year that he ended up befriending one of the White Sox assistant coaches. By the end of spring Jim was skating with Paul Konerko and teaching one of the pitchers how to drive the Zamboni. Jim always seemed happiest when he was helping others. He will be greatly missed.

We remember seeing Jimmy on Easter Sunday 2018. He very kindly arranged tickets for us to attend opening day of Houston Astro’s / Texas Rangers game. Jimmy was a very kind and generous soul, always thinking of others and what he could do to help. A real Man for Others in the Jesuit tradition. May God rest his soul. Through the mercy of Our Lord, rest in peace Dear Jimmy.

I was shocked to learn the news of Jim's passing. Way too young to leave this earth. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Hanlon family and all of Jim's friends. I can hear in my head "Hey DP how's it going" with this being in Jim's voice. Had the pleasure of working with him over the years. Rest in peace my friend until we meet on the other side.

This was one of Jim’s favorite photos. He always said he was their biggest fan, who would have thought he liked Ed Sheeran so much, just kidding Mom.

I am so very sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. It was a blessing to connect with him through the Knights almost 2 decades after both of us were at Gonzaga. My family will continue to pray for Jimmy. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Tessy and I will always remember when Jimmy got us four tickets to the hockey game in Phoenix when our son lived there. He went above and beyond simply because we knew his parents. He will be greatly missed. May God receive his soul with open arms.

Jim, Lynn, Sean and family, Jim Jr. was a great friend and Brother Knight. I only knew Jim for just under three years, but the quality of our friendship could fill ten lifetimes. He will be greatly missed. I will be praying for the repose of Jim's soul and for you and your extended family. Vivat Jesus and I have no doubt that Jim has joined Him in Heaven. God Bless, Ernie Piro.

I am completely in disbelief. As I sit here on a Sunday watching F1, I can’t help but think of my friend. I will miss our Sunday texts about the race, and debating which team was better. The conversations we had during the week about racing, hockey, and life. To the Hanlon family, my family is praying for you and your loss. I will always consider Jim a good friend, as he will be missed. God speed!
