Obituary of Marie L. Donovan

Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Flushing, Marie Donovan filled every room she stepped into with warmth and laughter. Never once in her life did she meet a stranger which is an incredible feat considering she traveled the world. While the Shrine of our Lady of Fatima in Portugal was her favorite she visited all over Europe, Norway, China, Russia, Egypt, Alaska, South America, and the Caribbean. Despite her world travels, she would quickly tell you New York is the greatest place in the world. Her beloved children, Marie and Bobby, were both born in New York. The trio then moved to California where she proceeded to make a family out of friends. She was a mother to all. No matter who you were, she would be ready to give you meal and a place to sleep and be kissed goodnight. Every time she saw you she would be glad to see you and give you a big hug and multiple kisses. She firmly believed it was always a good time to start dancing. In the grocery store, at a restaurant, the dentist, or a movie theater the beautiful lady would be dancing. It’s no wonder she won so many dance competitions. Her absence from this life is a tremendous loss for those who knew her. No party will ever be as fun without her. She leaves behind her son Bobby, daughter Marie, son-in-law Tim, two granddaughters Alexa and Jessica, and her baby brother Bob. We can find peace knowing she is very likely toasting to a life well lived filled with laughter, love, and dancing.
