Patricia Anne Frederick

Devoted wife, loving mother and beloved grandma, Patricia Anne Frederick, passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2021 after a prolonged and courageous battle with a debilitating illness.  She was 84. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, devoted children, five grandchildren and her sister. Pat loved her family deeply; she was a treasure to each and every one of them.

Pat was born on November 10, 1936 in Peoria, Illinois to H. Mervin and Pearl C. Wells Foster of Table Grove, Illinois whose ancestors immigrated to the United States from England in the 1600s.  Pat is survived by her husband of 61 years, Colonel David L. Frederick (Ret), her children; Cynthia F. Poremba and Matthew D. Frederick, her grandchildren; Landon Frederick, Anika Poremba, Tessa Poremba, Roman Poremba, Quinn Frederick and her sister MaryLynn McPhie of Rindge, New Hampshire.

Pat graduated from Woodruff High School in 1954 and earned her bachelor’s degree from Bradley University in 1958. She married her high school and university sweetheart, Dave, on July 30, 1960 in the First United Methodist Church in Peoria, Illinois. She then began her life as an Air Force wife that supported Dave’s 26-years of service.  She moved ten times, lived in seven states and Misawa, Japan.  She set up each new home with meticulous care embracing every move as an adventure for her and her family.

Pat was a talented dancer from an early age mastering ballet and tap.  Later, she used these talents to teach elementary school children to dance.  She was a cheerleader and majorette at Woodruff High School and a member of the Chi Omega Sorority and Head Majorette at Bradley University.  Pat spent many years teaching elementary school in the Peoria area and Texas before devoting her time to the care for her growing children.  After her children entered college, Pat was instrumental in the formation of an international construction company where she held key positions until her retirement after 25-years of service.
