Obituary of Phillip Edward Callif
Phillip Edward Callif passed away on June 30, 2021 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Noel), with whom he recently celebrated 59 years of marriage. Phil is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Faith (Ray) Daley and Laura (Gene) Lynch and by his grandchildren, Justine Daley, Serena Daley, Macey Lynch, Tatum Lynch, Walker Lynch and Brycen Lynch and by his sister-in-law, Jerry Lynn Noel. Phil is preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret (Buehler) Callif, and by his dear sisters and brothers in law, Priscilla (Bernie) Stowe, Annette (Dave) Goodman and James Noel. He has several nephews and nieces that he loved like they were his children: Mark (Anne) Stowe, Kim (Bob) Sinnard, Jeff (Trish) Stowe, Eric (Marsha) Stowe, Steven (Lori) Noel, and Danny Noel as well as many other great nieces and nephews. Phillip had a long career as an accountant and partner with Deloitte & Touche. His work ethic and genuine devotion to his profession inspired us all. Phil loved watching and talking about sports especially Cincinnati Reds baseball and University of Louisville and Xavier University basketball. He easily found humor in life and was a consummate storyteller. He loved planning and going on trips especially travel with the whole family to Hawaii, Disney World and the Outer Banks. He was a spiritual person and this made him confident and kind-hearted, even when life was tough. He transcended the pain and indignities of Parkinson’s, cancer and other ailments with his characteristic humor and resilience. Visitation for Phil will be Monday July 5, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Adams Green Funeral Home in Herndon, Virginia. The funeral mass for Phillip will be Tuesday July 6, 2021 at 11AM at St. Thomas a Beckett Catholic Church in Reston, Virginia. He will be buried at St. Joseph New Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio at a later date. Remembrances may be made in Phil’s name to Xavier University (in Cincinnati, Ohio) All For One fund.
