Obituary of Frank Elbert Rogers

It is with great sadness the family of Frank E. Rogers announces his passing. He peacefully passed on 
Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in his home. 

While we mourn the departure of his physical presence, we rejoice his spirit and the 94 years God 
granted him in this world. His life was filled with love, family, and friends. 

As an Army Veteran of both World War II and Korea, Frank had a strong love and sense of duty for his 
country. During his service, his path crossed with his wife of 68 years, Frances. Their love resulted in the 
birth of their three sons - Ronnie, Keith “Wayne”(Della), and Dean (Beth). 

After his Army service Frank and Frances settled in Great Falls, Virginia where they raised their sons and 
built their home. Frank worked hard to support his family as a Master Electrician with the Fairfax County 
School Board from 1962 to 1984. 

Few have the luxury to say that they were retired for longer than they worked but, Frank could. Upon 
his retirement he enjoyed the relaxed pace. He took up woodworking and enjoyed making everything 
from decorative benches to shelves. He also enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and tending to his fish 
pond. While his hobbies kept him busy, relaxing on the front porch with a glass of iced tea watching the 
world go by was perhaps his favorite thing to do. 

Frank was loved in his community and by his friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post 177 
for 50 years. He was also an active member of the Dranesville Church of the Brethren. 

His spirit will live on, not only in his sons, but in his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 
Frank loved his grandchildren - Greg (Jennifer), Steven (Christina), Stephanie (Mitch), Kim (Keith), Chad 
(Sarah) and Anthony. He was always ready for a great big hug and definitely knew how to make them 
smile. By the time his great-grandchildren - Logan, Leah, Emma, Hanna, and Henry - came along he was 
wrapped around their fingers. 

Looking back on his incredible life, one thing is clear - his 94 years were lived to their fullest.
