I had the pleasure of knowing Phil for over 25 years. He was my coworker, my mentor and my best friend. Phil helped me grow in life and in my career. He was always that voice of reason that would help keep me calm when needed and I could always count on him when I needed advice, both personal and professional. Phil's guidance and influence helped me become the man I am today and I will be forever grateful.
These last few days have been surreal and I am having a hard time believing Phil is gone. It has given me time to think about all the great memories I have of him and these are some my favorites: 1. The first day I met Phil when he became my coworker at AT&T 2. How excited Phil was after his first date with Jane 3. How excited he was when Jane accepted his marriage proposal 4. How excited I was after placing the same bets he did on 7 consecutive horse races and winning them ALL out in Vegas!!! 5. When he finally retired from work for the very last time, and 6. The day Phil became a grandfather to Cameron!
I still cannot believe you are gone Phil but I promise that you will never be forgotten!!! You will forever live on in our hearts and memories. This is not goodbye but see you later. Rest easy my friend and I promise we will see each other again. Love you Mr. Nudo!!!

Phil was a long time pickleball friend of mine. Only 5-6 years did I know him but I always enjoyed seeing him and spending time w him. I didn’t know he was in the hospital until late in August and now share your pain in the passing of a very good & kind man. He will be missed. Sending My condolences.

Pickleball players are some of the nicest people. Phil was above and beyond nice! He was always kind. He enjoyed laughing and telling stories. I looked forward to playing with him whenever I had the chance. He was always nice enough to play. Phil is one person I will truly miss!

We have many great memories of playing pickleball with Phil. He was always so upbeat and fun-loving, yet had that competitive edge! He had an infectious laugh and loved sharing photos on his phone of his grandson! Whenever help was needed to teach pickleball or help out with a community event to promote pickleball, Phil was there! The last time we played with him was in the spring at a Wounded Warriors pickleball event near Ft. Belvoir, helping veterans learn the game. We also liked to compare stories of going to MGM and playing slots. He will be missed by so many!

I truly enjoyed and valued working for/with Phil. His mentorship was during my first experience and throughout my work as a government contractor. His was the calm voice of reason when I needed guidance.
While attending my first departmental holiday party at a restaurant, my husband ordered a scotch. The waiter asked him if he wanted to try the new Johnny Walker Blue. Not knowing much about it he said sure. When we received the bill, my husband shouted WHAT? at the $65 cost of the drink. Phil always laughed hard at that memory.
We also enjoyed some fun times at Myrtle Beach and at the Charles Town Races with Phil and Jane which we will always remember fondly.
Rest well, dear friend.

My fondest memories of Phil are on the tennis courts in Brussels, Belgium and Reston, VA. He was a great competitor and valued friend. We played hundreds of hours of tennis together. I think he might have let me win once or twice. God bless Phil and his family. Thank you for your service my friend.
