Obituary of Christopher Shaun Goode

Christopher Shaun Goode, 44 of Herndon, VA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday August 31, 2021. He is survived by his father, Michael Goode of Herndon, his sister Shannon, Brother in Law Jake, his beloved Niece and Nephew, Rylan and Jackson Woodfin of Radford, a couple of Aunts, an Uncle, several Cousins and many, Many dear friends.

Chris was born March 3, 1977 in Fairfax County, VA. Chris graduated from Oakton High School in 1995 and then earned his Associates Degree from Northern Va. Community College. He has worked several jobs over his career but he was the most devoted to his position at Cox Farm. Chris has worked at the farm for the last 10 years and played an important part in organizing and setting up parts of their Fall Festival, among many other roles. Chris looked at everyone he worked with at the farm as family and truly enjoyed working there each day. When his Mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011, Chris immediately jumped into the Caregiver role along with his Father. Chris devoted all of his extra time to ensure she had the best life she could while battling the terrible disease. He was compassionate, caring and truly loved taking care of his Mom. Chris was an avid fan of the Washington Capitals and loved attending their games whenever he could. He was a Disney fanatic who visited Disney World as often as he could. He started taking trips with his Mom and then made sure to spoil Rylan and Jackson with trips of their own. He loved his family immensely but nothing could compare to his love for Rylan and Jackson. He spoiled them like they were his own and was the best Uncle ever. Chris never met a stranger, he was the kindest, most gentle person there was and always made sure everyone was included. He would constantly go out of his way to check in on people and do what he could to put a smile on everyones face. Our world is a little bit darker now that he is gone but we can rejoice in how beautiful the reunion was with Chris and his Mom in Heaven.

Visitation will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home (721 Elden St. Herndon, Va. 20170) on Saturday September 11, 2021 from 3-5pm. A Celebration of Life will follow for family and close friends at Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern.
