I'll remember Marion as a delightful person to chat with! She had a great wit and we enjoyed laughing. She was also kind and genuine. It was a pleasure interacting with Marion whenever she came into the office to meet with Bruce. I looked forward to those times and will cherish fond memories of Marion. Bruce and family…. may you find solace in the love of those who remember with you. Kinsey

Marion and I became fast friends when I moved into the court next to her house. She and Bruce shared many a meal with us (my brother, my mother and I) and we eventually had a weekly routine of Friday night dinners at Joe's Pizza. I am grateful that I had nine years to spend with Marion. We've shared lots a laughter, some tears, but mostly the beauty of friendship. I will miss her smile, her crazy sense of humor, and all the warm conversations we shared. She was a true friend, with a kind and gentle heart that she openly shared. Bruce, you will always have my support and friendship. Thank you for loving my friend and sharing her with me. I, and my family, pray for you, Bruce, and her brother and his family.
Rest well, my friend. You are sorely missed on this side of heaven.

I am deeply saddened and dismayed that Marion was taken so soon from us. Marion was a dedicated, supportive and kind teacher. All the students that had her as a teacher are the lucky ones. She was so fun loving and always gave of herself. She will be greatly missed. Sending my condolences to her loving husband Bruce and the family.
With sincere sympathies,
Polly Chin

Marion dedicated her life to being an attentive wife to Bruce, an influential educator for the primary children she instructed, and a great friend to people she was close to. Family was important to Marion, and she looked forward to the many family reunions. Marion typically called me on a regular basis to see how I was doing, the family, and to find out if I had time to schedule another “lunch chat.” She had such a loving heart and always wanted to participate with the group in their endeavors. Whether being a member of her school’s cheerleading squad to entertain parents and students at basketball games, or participating in the school’s holiday talent show, Marion had fun giving of herself to others. She enjoyed life and spending time on vacation trips with Bruce. She left us too soon, but I believe God had a plan for her. If heaven needs quality teachers, I know what she is doing!
Rest in peace my friend,
Rebecca Susanne Haske

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Marion's passing. Marion was my younger cousin with whom we exchanged visits throughout our childhoods. Marion was a bridesmaid in my wedding as well. We followed the same career paths as teachers. Reading the tributes from friends, parents of former students, and coworkers communicated her love for instructing children and sharing her life with others. Her legacy lives on in each of the lives she has touched. Our world is a much better place due to the life of Marion Hoffman Kirk. May God comfort and bless Bruce, David, and all their family.

We are very sorry that Marion left us so soon. Her stories of travel, teaching children, faith and life in general were great. She loved her Bruce and his respect and compassion for her. I will miss our Sunday breakfast or occasional dinners at the Pizzeria. Hopefully we can continue breakfast with Bruce. Rest Marion, Marlene and Dick Cavaiola

Marion came into our lives as a daughter in law but soon became like a daughter to us. We will forever be greatful that she was part of our family and for the years she and Bruce had together.
She was always fun to be around telling of her sabbatical in Europe to the romance of her parents in Paris France.
A few years back we had the pleasure of going to Long Island with she and Bruce. She took us to so many places of interest her home where she was born and raised,,and she talked of her wonderful child hood. She was quite the tour guide.
.I don't know that here is a need for a tour guide in Heaven but if there were Heaven just received the best of the best.
We want to express our love and sympathy to our son Bruce, her brother David and his family as well as her many friends.
Rest in Peace sweet Marion

Marion and I became friends when she lived in Maryland. We spent many days substitute teaching together, going out to eat, visiting at each other's homes, and talking on the telephone. Oh, Marion was such a great friend. I am deeply hurt and saddened to hear of her passing. She was such a sweet friend. I send my condolences to Bruce, David, and family.

I am in shock over the passing of my sweet friend, Marion. For 24 years, we kept in touch even when we lived in different states. When I moved back to Virginia, it was as if no time passed at all. My deepest condolences go to Bruce and his family, Marion’s brother, and anyone else who misses this great soul!

Marion was such a beautiful woman, inside and out. She taught my son in 3rd grade. It was evident that her passion was being in that classroom. She was a beautiful friend as well. I already miss our conversations in the garden! Love and hugs Bruce and family
