Obituary of William Byron Link

William “Bill” Bryon Link, 93, of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, at the Johnson Center at Falcon’s Landing.

Born March 25, 1928, in Darke, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Samuel Wesley Link and Grace Lucinda Mills Link. William graduated from Charles Town High School in 1946. That same year he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps and was honorably discharged in 1949. He attended West Virginia University and graduated from Shepherd College in 1953. He spent the majority of his career at the Federal Food and Drug Administration, from which he retired in 1985.

William was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ruby Jean Burton Link.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Wesley (Donna), Greg (Karen), and David (Karen); brother Samuel Wesley Link, Jr., (Donna); sister Frances Rebecca Owens; and grandchildren, Samantha, Brandon, Adam, Matthew, and Jessica.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by three brothers, James Daniel Link, Samuel Wesley Link, II, and Lawrence Vincent Link; and four sisters, Viola Eloise Edwards, Charlotte Marion Link, Hildred La Hue Frocke, and Betty Geneva Walters.

Visitation will be from 10:00am-11:00am with funeral services starting at 11:00am on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA 20170.

Guests are asked to wear a mask while indoors.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of your choice in Bill’s name.
