Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

James (Jim) Anthony McCloskey Jr., age 76, of Herndon, Virginia passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 13, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Marie (Wilson) McCloskey; son, James McCloskey III (and Heather) of Leesburg, VA; daughter, Christine Wojciech (and Derek) of South Riding, VA; daughter, Beth McCloskey of Herndon, VA; his grandchildren, Justin, Jacob (and Kayla), Lauren, and Haley McCloskey, Sarah, David, Tommy, Stephen, and Benjamin Wojciech, and Ellie McCloskey. He is also survived by his loving sister and brother, Geraldine McCloskey of Newark, DE, and Ronnie McCloskey (and Bernadette) of Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Constance McCloskey, and his sister, Constance Haraszkiewicz.

Jim was born to James and Constance McCloskey in Philadelphia, PA on June 14, 1945. He grew up in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Bishop Newman High School in 1963. At the age of eighteen, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Air Police Patrolman. As part of this service, he received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Outstanding Unit Award.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He was kind, generous, hardworking, loyal, faithful, and funny. His most important quality however was the way he lived his life for Christ! In 1982, Jim gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ. After Jim’s retirement, he became part of Bible Study Fellowship in Ashburn, VA. He developed many precious relationships and grew tremendously in his faith. Jim loved the Lord and was not ashamed to share the gospel. We loved Jim immensely and we take great comfort knowing that Jim is resting peacefully in the arms of our Heavenly Father.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Jim’s favorite Christian radio station, WGTS, would be appreciated. Contributions may be made through their website at:
