Gregory Gerard Beltrane of Sterling, Virginia passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at the age of 64. The world has lost a great husband, dad, pops, and a laugh like no other.
Greg was born on August 18, 1957, in Philadelphia, PA. He grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY, and later moved to Raleigh, NC where he met his loving wife, Anne. They later moved to Sterling, VA where they raised their children and enjoyed a community of loving friends that turned into family.
Greg was an adoring father who loved them beyond measure and fostered their love of hockey by coaching them while running the Ashburn Hockey League for countless years. He wanted to put a smile on his family’s faces all the time, was silly, and danced like he thought he had rhythm. He was also a lover of Hawaiian shirts, the beach, sharing his artistic talents, comedy, bird watching, knowing random fun facts, and dad jokes. He was always the first to say I love you and will be forever missed by the ones who loved him the most.
Greg is survived by his wife, Anne Merrill Beltrane, his son and daughter-in-law, John and Tracy Beltrane, his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Eric Espinoza, his beloved granddaughters, Elliott and Hadley Beltrane, his sister Sheryl Beltrane, his fur baby Phoebe and his purr baby Winston, and many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jean Beltrane, and brother John “Jackie” Beltrane.
The funeral service will be at Adam Greene Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, Virginia, on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 2 PM. The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives at 1 PM and ask that you dress the way Greg would- in a Hawaiian shirt or anything colorful and beachy.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make donations to Wounded Warrior Project, a charity Greg was fond of.
