Obituary of Billy Ray Middleton, Sr.
Billy Ray Middleton, Sr., 81, of Sterling, VA, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2021.
Born in Leesburg, VA on April 25, 1940, Billy left high school in the 9th grade to work on his family’s farm in Aldie, VA and worked 3 jobs in the concrete industry before starting his own contracting company, B.R. Middleton Concrete, which is still thriving after 54 years.
He was well known throughout the Northern Virginia area for his exceptional concrete skills and loved by many for his sense of humor, unique storytelling, and vigorous work ethic. Through his hard work and determination, he enjoyed much success, which he used to provide his family with the true American Dream. Billy’s unique brand of vibrance and unmatched charisma brought true happiness into this world, and will live on through his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Bennett Middleton, whom he married on September 14, 1962, and was happily married for 59 years; his 3 children, Debra Emory (Brent) of Vienna, VA, Dona Middleton of Fort Myers, FL, and Billy Ray Middleton, Jr., of Sterling VA; his 5 grandchildren, Paige, Peyton and Jack Emory and Jordan and Braeden Halfmann; as well as his brothers David and Ronald Middleton, and sister Linda (Edgar) Lunsford, and his beloved dog, Jill.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Hessie Maureen Marcum Middleton and Woodrow Wilson Middleton, Brothers Carl Middleton, Jessie Edward Middleton, and sisters Geraldine Frances Middleton Harlow and Joyce Ann Middleton Kalan.
A celebration of life will be held on November 29, 2021, officiated by Pastor Joe Vought, Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 12:00 PM at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. A interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, VA.
