I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Azat family on the passing of Ramzi. He, and his entire family, modeled what it is to be "a good neighbor," opening their home and caring for some of our most vulnerable County residents. We also enjoyed the service of his granddaughter, Cynthia, who interned in our Adult Foster Care/Project Home program. I extend my sympathies, my thoughts and prayers to the entire Azat family.

To the Azat family,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. l posted a professional note earlier. On a personal note, I want to say that outside of my family, I have known few people who were as warm and kind than Ramzi and Suad Azat. This is Ramzi’s memorial, but it’s difficult to speak of one without mentioning the other. When I entered their home the warmth of family always was present. I was there to serve them and the women they cared for, but they cared about me. They asked questions about how I was doing and about my career. Once when I took extended leave for for a procedure that restricted my walking, Mrs. Azat found my personal number and called me. She said she had called so many numbers trying to find me. To make a long story short, she told me to come to stay at their home while I recuperated further. I would be ok, and graciously declined the offer. But I will never forget the interest she and Mr. Azat showed in me personally at all times. They made my job easier as they, not only served from the heart, but followed Program expectations. Mr. Azat always told me when he saw Jay and how he offered praises for my work with the family and with my clients. I always will Ramzi and Suad fondly. May their souls Rest In Peace.
Sincerely
Karen Ellis

Dear Azat Family,
Please accept my most sincere condolences upon the passing your beloved Ramzi. Ramzi was ‘my barber’ for over 20 years at Rick’s Barbershop. In addition to providing excellent haircuts, he brought such joy and happiness. He always showed interest in my career and asked about my family. He was a source of wisdom and kindness. I was also privileged to know both Ramzi and his beloved wife ‘Sue’ in their role as Foster Care Parents
They provided a loving home for adults with disabilities for over 30 years. The Azat Home was a model of care and Ramzi and Sue mentored many other Foster Care Providers. We thank them both for improving the quality of life of many in Montgomery County. Like Sue, Ramzi was a blessing to our community. May God console you in your loss. My personal regards to Ramzi’s granddaughter Cynthia who served as a Social Work Intern in our office. We all loved the Azat Family!
Sincerely,
John ‘Jay’ Kenney
