Obituary of James Patrick Ford

James Patrick Ford 81 Passed away peacefully on December 2nd 2021 with his Family by his side.

Jim was born in Philadelphia, Pa on July 24th 1940. He attended Saint Thomas Moore H.S. where he was a formidable Football Star. Jim was bigger than Life to all that new him. Jim loved all Pro and College Sports especially the Washington Redskins and Notre Dame. He loved the outdoors where he Hiked, Fished, Camped, and Golfed and also took in the Beauty of it all. He Loved Life.

Jim met the love of his life “Cathy” “Cass” in 1960 “Down the Shore” in Atlantic City NJ. They married soon after and started life together in the Philadelphia area. Jim’s carrier soon relocated the couple to Virginia. They settled in Great Falls, Va. They both loved and enjoy their Home and life in Great Falls and the DC area. The two had many memorable years traveling together around the United States and abroad. They enjoyed Life.

Jim’s carrier was in sales of Heavy Construction Equipment. Jim’s Irish Wit and his Gift of Gab made him a great success in life and in the business world. Jim knew everyone and could remember their names and something special about them. He made everyone who would meet him or would know him feel special. He loved people and Life.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Michael J Ford Sr. and Margret M Ford (nee: Brooks). Sister: Margret “Peggy” Rhea. Brothers:  Michael J Ford Jr, John “Jack” Ford. In Laws:  Robert “Bob” Rhea, Metro Michio Sr, Anne Michio , Andrew “Andy” Michio and William “Bill” Neblett. Best Friend Charles “Charlie” Strittmatter.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Catherine. Sister: Julia “Julie” Cleveland (John). Brothers: William “Bill” Ford (Pat), Douglas “Doug” Ford (Janet). Sister in Laws: Stephanie Ford and Loretta Ford. In Laws: Diane Eagan (Marty), Metro Michio Jr (Lorraine), Anne Marie Neblett, Paul Michio (Glenda) and many many Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and close Friends. Especially Friends like Linda and Glenn McLean, Susan Strittmatter and Dr. Carol Martin to name a few.

We will announce a celebration of Jim’s life at a later date. Just keep this thought in your heart. Jim Lived his Life, Loved his Wife and Loved his Life.
