Martha L. Freer, age 83, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021.

Mrs. Freer was born in Washington D.C. a daughter of the late Alfred and Genevieve Tate. She was predeceased by her first husband, Laird Beach Freer; and two brothers, Fred Tate and Randolph Tate.

She enjoyed country western dancing, traveling throughout the United States, and spending time with her friends and family. Mrs. Freer also loved caring for her beloved pets over the years. She was a smart and creative woman who used her talents to help design her dream home in Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Freer also took a cake decorating class and would bake and design cakes for special events.

Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Cox of Conway; two daughters, Denise F. Vice of Indianapolis, IN and Doreen F. Wright (Tommy) of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Amanda Vice, Rachael Vice, and Jacob Wright (Paris); two great grandchildren, Tilly O’Neal and Hendrix Wright; two sisters, Frances Shupp and Ann Pierce (Robert); and several loving nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Adams-Green Funeral Home with burial at Chestnut Grove Cemetery to follow.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM, also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Grand Strand Humane Society, 3241 Mr. Joe White Avenue, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
