Obituary of Marcia Angela Andere
Marcia Angela Andere went home to rest in power with the Lord on January 9th, 2022. Born October 3rd, 1952, in Kingston, Jamaica. Marcia spent most of her life in the United States, but still called Jamaica home. A faithful woman, a loving mom, a friend, and a mentor to many. She was committed to service above self through her work and volunteer life. Known as Chef Mama Marcia to many she brought great joy to any gathering or celebration with her food, distinct laugh, and smile. She spent forty-plus years in various positions working in corporate food service. Her favorite position was her last, leading human services and helping people on their professional journey. She served St. Timothy’s as a Senior and Junior Warden and head of the Service Ministry. Her favorite role in the church was unofficial, as the “Queen of the Kitchen”. Her love and commitment to her children meant many years serving in the Herndon High Drama and Choir Boosters and volunteering to bring healthy food to our local nonprofit, Cornerstones. She is survived by her children Amanda, Tyler, and son-in-love, Shaun. Her grandson-in-love, Sampson. Her brothers Lloyd (Gina) and Ian (Stacey). The father of her children, Jimmy. Her mom, Olive. Many nieces, nephews, and adopted children.
