Obituary of Connor William Shermeyer
Connor William Shermeyer, age 33, of Manassas, VA died on January 18, 2022 at Prince William Hospital. He was born on November 27, 1988. He was just hitting his stride when he was suddenly diagnosed with leukemia of which he valiantly fought against.
Connor was the beloved son of Lisa Messitt Bailey and Brian Shermeyer. He was the loving brother of Logan Shermeyer and his wife Carrie, and Liam Shermeyer and his wife Colleen and uncle to Matthew. He was the stepson of Mary Logan Shermeyer. Also, he is survived by Uncle Gregory Messitt and his wife Sharon; Uncle Douglas Messitt and his wife Julia; Aunt Julie Godby and her husband John; Aunt Diane Robinson and her husband Kevin; Aunt Alice Shermeyer, and 9 cousins. In addition Scott Bailey assisted in raising him for some years.
Connor graduated from Osbourn High School in 2007 and went on to continue his education at Northern Virginia Community College. He was a diligent worker Fleet Manager at Beacon Home Services in Manassas. VA and prior to that worked in the restaurant service industry.
When not working Connor, he loved gaming with friends, and also entertained himself with an eclectic range of movies and TV. In addition, Connor was a skilled athlete. He was an accomplished gymnast specializing on trampoline, and a top notch volleyball player. Finally, he was top junior bowler representing the United States at the 2006 International People to People Sports Ambassador competition in Holland.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22nd at 1:00pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. Interment will be private. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that contributions may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, PO BOX 22324, New York, NY 10087
