Gilbert Aristides Gallego left this world on Thursday, January 27, after a month- long battle with Covid-19 at INOVA Loudoun Hospital with his loving wife Anna at his side.

Gilbert was born in Tucson, Arizona, and grew up on the family ranch breaking wild horses at an early age. After high school, instead of the cowboy life, he chose the life of a soldier, joining the Army, where he spent the next 30 years stationed in various U.S. posts  as well as in Latin America. During this time, he also completed a college education, having received a Bachelor’s and then a Master’s degree.

After retiring at the rank of Colonel, Gilbert then started another successful and fulfilling career as a beloved Reiki teacher and practitioner.  Over the next 28 years, Gilbert touched hundreds of souls with his keen intuition, brilliant intellect, his warmth and his immense kindness.

Gilbert leaves to mourn his wife Anna, his children Gilbert Antonio Gallego, Monika Estabrook ( Tom Estabrook), step children Brighitta Moser-Clark ( Matthew Moser-Clark), Andrew Moser (Annmarie Moser), sisters Yvonne Gallego, Yolanda Cuestas (Alfred Cuestas), grandson Raimund Jones, step grandchildren Heidi, Ernst, Gretta and Elias, as well as a host of nieces, great-nieces, great- nephews, in-laws, friends and students.

Let there be peace in knowing that Gilbert’s spirit is soaring like the eagle of his true nature.
