Robert Garneau

Obituary of Robert Myles Garneau

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert (Bobby) Myles Garneau earned his wings on 1 February 2022.  Bobby, as we called him has now joined his parents, Joan Ivy Wood and George E. Garneau, Sr., his Brothers George E. Garneau, Carl “Jody” Garneau, Sister Helen F. Ladner and Nephew Stephen J. Ladner.  May they all Rest in Peace!

Bob was born on 7 September 1951 in East Weymouth, Massachusetts and is survived by his Sister Derry Smith, Two daughters, Kristina (Nina) Garneau, Jenni Garneau and three Granddaughters, Jadyn, Kendall and Laine.  As so often in life his marriage to Terry Byrd Garneau ended in divorce.

Survivors include two nieces, Kelly De Marce and Julie Hogan, five Nephews, Carl (Jody) Garneau, Jr., Joseph T. De Marce, Guy, Gregory and George Garneau Jr.

He served in the U.S. Navy for six years and was on the USS Independence.

Bob loved and enjoyed photography and would travel with his cameras and sketch pads to his favorite coffee shop(s).  He had more than one he liked to go to and while there he would meet many unique individuals to talk to and sketch.  He was a people watcher and his sketch pads reflected his subjects in their everyday lives.

Bob’s artistic gifts gave him the ability to view life from a different perspective.  He was quick to laugh and looked on the bright side in the midst of negativity or turmoil.  Bob knew how to lighten the energy of a room with a funny comment or his unique take on life.

As an artist, Bob had a gift in portraying his subject’s essence, and soul.  This gift made his connection with people much deeper than he ever let on and why we all feel his loss so deeply.  He has over the years met many “characters” while on his journey and to this day his friends are many.  All of his friends and family will miss his uncanny view of life.  Bob was proud to share his political views and with his extreme knowledge would make almost everyone he met accept and believe in his opinions.

It is my belief, Bob would want you to remember him as he was and the memories each of you shared and he would want you to know that……..

When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand!  That an Angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand; The Angel said my place was ready.  In heaven above and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.  But when I walked thought Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, and told me “Welcome Home”.

So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t’ think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart!  Just smile when you think of me and I’ll be there!
