I had the Honor to Serve in Iceland while then Capt. McVaden was Commanding Officer. I met him several times back then. Each time he took time to see how all was going. He went on to Serve a Very Distinguished Career. Blessings to the family of a great leader.
In his retirement, Eric and I saw each other a think tanks and discussed issues involving China and Russia. His insights were deep and his personality warm. Rest in peace. Amb (retired) William Courtney
