Nick and family and Patty and family,
My heartfelt condolences for your loss.
As you know, I knew Joanne for over 60 years, and we shared plenty of adventures growing up on James Street. Playing Pokeno and eating Lee’s pizza on Friday nights. Asking her help to patch up any misunderstandings with my girlfriend Mary Annette and generally hanging out on the front porch…… but we shared a current relationship too that will once again be commemorated on March 13th, 2022.
Our personal holiday occurred twice a year when we were ordered to change the clocks for Daylight Savings Time.
I have no idea how this began but I know the 1969 song
“ Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is? by Chicago was part of it. Every year we would joke about what time it really was and the absurdity of the custom.
I will commemorate Joanne’s life with a smile twice a year for the rest of my days, but there is also a sad irony in the lyrics of that famous song:
“Does anybody really know what time it is
Does anybody really care ?
If so I can't imagine why
We've all got time enough to die “
Rest In Peace Joanne, and if you can read this, know that I will celebrate you on our holiday.
Love,
Guy

So saddened to hear of Joanne's passing. Joanne was our daughter's 4th grade teacher. I was room parent and also worked in the school with Joanne. All the students wanted to have Joanne as their 4th grade teacher. She was a wonderful teacher and friend. I have many fond memories of field trips and school parties that I shared with Joanne. I know what a big dog lover she was. From time to time I would bring our dog in "Jingles" for a visit which she truly enjoyed. My deepest condolences to her family and may she be at peace.
With sympathy and friendship,
Brenda Castelli
