Obituary of Gonzalo Camilo Erick Donoso Bunger

Gonzalo Camilo Erick Donoso Bünger, of Great Falls, VA, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2022, at 6:45 AM. 

Born on  February 2, 1947, in Quito – Ecuador,  he was the son of the late Gonzalo Donoso Donoso and the late Susana Bünger Game.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Rodrigo Donoso Bünger.

Gonzalo Camilo was a transportation and environmental civil engineer, but an artist, historian, and archeologist at heart. He was kind, softspoken, and always had time to listen, to share his experiences, and to provide well needed advice.  He was always polite.  During his years of Service to the Ecuadorian Government, he was always straightforward and respectful.  He loved history and enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge with everybody.

Gonzalo Camilo was blessed with two children, Guillermo and Carolina, a son-in law, Patricio, and two grandchildren, Alejandro and Gonzalo. He married the love of his life, Aura Mercedes Freile Montero, on March 3, 1976, in Quito-Ecuador. Gonzalo Camilo helped raised his two children and grandchildren with love, humility, patience, and discipline. He taught them to love God, respect others, love unconditionally, and to always be patient under any circumstance.

A funeral service will be held from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Adams Green Funeral Home
