Obituary of Michael Anthony Corrado

Dr. Michael Anthony Corrado July 14, 1927 - March 14, 2022 (Age 94) Dr. Michael A. Corrado of Rehoboth Beach, DE, St. Croix, VI, and longtime resident of Sterling, VA, slipped away to be with the Lord on March 14. 2022 peacefully at his home in Rehoboth Beach, DE. He was born on July 14, 1927 in Cleveland, OH to Giovanni Corrado and Gaetana (Pasquale) Corrado. He graduated from Eastern High School in Washington DC as president of his class in 1945. After graduating from George Washington University, Michael served four years in the Navy and then graduated from George Washington University Medical School. He completed his medical internship at Boston City Hospital and his residency at University of South Carolina School of Medicine.

Dr. Corrado was most known in Northern Virginia as a respected, talented and beloved cardiologist. He founded his private practice in Seven Corners in Northern VA where he served patients for more than 50 years. He was on the medical staff at Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, VA and was also a consulting physician for multiple government agencies through the years. Dr. Corrado was a founding board member of the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum in Sterling, VA, as well as a long standing board member of the Loudoun Preservation Society in Loudoun County, VA. Michael was a Member of the Knights of Columbus in Sterling, VA, the Briscola Club, the Aruzia Societies of Northern Virginia and the Ha'Penny Beach Club in St Croix, USVI.

Michael enjoyed many eclectic interests which included raising quarter horses on his horse farm, antique carriage, sleigh and farm relic collecting, decoy carving, historic home restoration projects, and traveling the world. He was not only devoted to his family and his patients but was also a loyal friend to all who knew him. During the last chapter of his life, spending time with his grandsons provided him with a great deal of happiness and a source of pride and hope.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Theda (Martz) Corrado, his daughter Leslie Corrado Stillwagon (David) of Philadelphia, his son Christopher Corrado, and loving grandsons Holden Stillwagon, Porter Stillwagon, Ridgeway Stillwagon of Philadelphia and Michael Corrado. He is also survived by his older sister Rosalie Crenca of Silver Spring, MD and brothers Charles Corrado of Chevy Chase, MD, James Corrado of Potomac, MD and many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved and respected him dearly. He was preceded in death by his brothers Anthony Corrado of Washington D.C. and John Corrado of Silver Spring, MD.

A Visitation will be conducted at Adams-Green Funeral Home at 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA on Thursday, March 24 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John's the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 101 Oakcrest Manor Drive NE, Leesburg, VA on Friday, March 25 beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. https://wish.org
