I truly miss my sweet sister, Delores Ann Frye. I remember how we laughed as we set up St. Luke AME Church in Reston every week for worship service. What was so wonderfully amazing to me was that we were able to giggle and laugh even as we worked sometimes well after midnight. I enjoyed our quick lunch breaks at Whole Foods -- rather than where I might otherwise go like a fast food restaurant LOL. Those of you who knew Sis. Frye will recall she was a healthy eater, and I am still eating the yellow fin tuna she introduced me to many years ago.
There are too many wonderful stories to tell, but another "joint venture" of Sis. Delores and me occurred long before St. Luke. It was our work on the Congressional campaign of Rev. Cornell William Brooks, Esq. Sis. Frye taught me so much about politics and people. She and I in two days organized a huge crowd of young people from Centerville,VA to put up campaign signs. She led the effort and gave out cookies and orange juice. Some of the students spoke of how much fun they had and how kind we were. My dear sister, Delores guided me during the campaign and stuck with us all the way! I miss my friend very much, but know she is in the sweet arms of Jesus. I thank God when Sister Frye agreed to work with us again at St. Luke.
To the Frye Family, please know that Sis. Delores was a true friend of the Brooks family, and my dear, sweet sister. We love you!

Our precious and dear friend, Sis. Delores Ann Frye, was such a dedicated and dutiful servant of Christ. She gave tireless, loving, and unyielding service to St. Luke AME Church of Reston, VA. She lived the spirit of Christian love and friendship as she worked many hours to prepare the sanctuary for worship. Not only did she prepare the sanctuary, she helped to prepare our hearts through her big smile and warm embrace as we entered the church. She was a tender and sweet person, but strictly no-nonsense and "all in" when it came to our carrying out God's work.
Much love to her family. We deeply loved your mother, grandmother, sister, friend and colleague.

It must have been in the 1980”s that I met Delores Frye. As a rookie realtor, she took me under her wings and taught me the ropes. A poised, efficient lady who was proud of her chosen work as a broker.
Being a stranger to Virginia, having relocated from Liberia, West Africa, I appreciated her guidance and kind patience.
Amanda and Bobby, Jr., my heart is filled with prayers that you would hold fast to Jesus, the Christ who calls each one home in His time. May you be comforted with the peace which God, our Creator gives in times like these.
