Anita (Nierle) Frank, (80), of Sterling, VA passed away on April 5, 2022 at the Reston Hospital Center after suffering complications from pneumonia. 

Anita Frank was born in Williamsport, PA on June 11, 1941. She was the second of six children born to Robert and Anita Nierle. She attended Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, PA. After school she joined the U.S. Navy, and while enlisted she met and married her husband – Henry Frank. After the military they made their home in Rochester, NY where they raised three sons – Jeff, Matt and Chris. 

While living in New York, and raising her family, Anita worked at a local bank. While living in Virginia she worked for Virginia Title Center, and for The Senegal Group - where she served as an Administrative Assistant. 

Anita will be lovingly remembered as an incredibly strong woman who loved entertaining around her table with her family and friends. She is known for making the best lasagna and peanut butter fudge and wacky cake.  She also loved to read and garden. 

Anita was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Anita Nierle; her siblings Ellen Becker, Catherine Nierle, Barbara Fleck, Robert Nierle, Jr., and Anthony Nierle. She was also preceded in death by her sons Jeffery Frank and Matthew Frank. She is survived by her son Christopher Frank, her granddaughter Christina Townes, grandson Jeffery Frank, Jr.; her great-grandchildren Halie and Michael Townes Jr., and Braxton Frank; along with two daughters-in-law Tammie and Betty, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of her life will be held at a future date. For those who wish to do something in honor of Anita please feel free to make a donation in her name to your favorite charity.
