Obituary of Austin Michael Catlett

Austin Catlett, beloved husband, father, friend, son, and brother, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 25, 2022, at the age of 42.

Austin was born in Tucson, AZ. His family lived in numerous regions in the US and abroad, settling in the Chantilly, VA area when Austin was young. Austin attended Chantilly High School and enjoyed spending his time with friends, competitive swimming, and proudly earned his rank as an Eagle Scout.

In his mid-twenties Austin reconnected with Amber, the sister of one of Austin’s close friends from high school. Their friendship blossomed into romance in the summer of 2008. Within a couple of years, they had started a family, complete with Zoe and Declan. As a family they loved gardening, family movie nights, going to the kid’s soccer games, and home science experiments.

Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Austin and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. Austin was an easy going, caring man, who loved without reserve and gave of himself without hesitation.

In addition to his loving wife, Amber, adoring children, Zoe and Declan, Austin is survived by his parents Michael and Linda Catlett, maternal grandmother, Martha Kearney, his twin sister Ashley Harrell, two nieces Cobi and Cali Harrell and a nephew Hunter Harrell, as well as many more family members and friends. He was preceded in passing by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.

A private, family Celebration of Life will be held at Adams Green Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 2:00pm for Austin’s family and closest friends.

There will be a public memorial luncheon reception at Hidden Creek Country Club in Reston, VA following the services on May 4, 2022, at 4:30pm. Friends, family, and community members who knew Austin or his family are invited to join us for this reception to celebrate the light Austin brought into the world of all who knew him.
