Obituary of Danielle Joy Monsale

Danielle Joy (“DJ”) Monsale passed peacefully in the presence of her family on May 1, 2022 after a three-and-a-half year battle with chronic myeloid leukemia. She was 23 years old. DJ is tremendously missed by her loving family, including her mother and father, Hope and Pitter, aunts, uncles, and 11 cousins. She was greeted in heaven by her grandparents, Valentin and Estefana Monsale, and her sweet dog Tyson. 

DJ was born on December 16, 1998 to Hope Monsale-Chi in Rockville, MD. After graduating from Herndon High School, DJ attended James Madison University where she pursued a degree in English and was an active member of Filipino Americans at Madison (FAM). DJ was also an accomplished soccer player, violinist, and artist. 

Viewings will take place at Adams-Green Funeral Home on May 8 from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm and May 9 from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm. DJ’s funeral service will be held on May 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Parish at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Chestnut Grove Cemetery following the funeral service.
