Obituary of Rose Miriam Briggs Earl

Rose Miriam Briggs Earl (Miriam) (Age 86)

Daughter of the late Genevieve and Clinton Briggs, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.  Miriam (Mirm) is survived by her children, David Earl (Bambi), Mary Stern, Gerry Earl, grandchildren Joshua and Rachel and step grandchildren McKay (Katie) and Ciara (Bill) as well as her twin brother Dave Briggs (Sally) and sister Annie Van Dusen (Steve).  Miriam was born on 7 January, 1936 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Mercy Central.  Miriam worked as a registered nurse in Springfield, Massachusetts, Georgetown University Hospital and George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and Loudoun Hospital.  She also worked at KinderCare, Airline Tariff Publishing Company and World Airways.  Miriam was also a Third Oder Dominican.  Miriam was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and cousin and was loved by many.  Miriam was known for her great sense of humor, adventurous spirit and her love of storytelling.  Miriam was preceded in death by her devoted  husband Edwin and her brother Thomas Briggs.  A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Sterling on Monday, May 9.  A burial service will take place in Grand Rapids, Michigan at a future date.
