Obituary of Frances I. Moss

Frances I. Moss, age 92, formerly of Alexandria, Virginia died on July 22, 2007 at Sunrise of Reston Assisted Living. She was born June 13, 1915 to Frederick and Steina Ashfield in a village near Cambridge, England. There she taught school and was evacuated during WWII. She was an organist at the village church, drove an ambulance, was a war bride, and became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1950. Mrs. Moss taught at Burgundy Farm Country Day School and Beverly Hills Preschool as well as being a staff member at Episcopal High School and Ascension Academy all of Alexandria. Mrs. Moss was an avid gardner and loved to travel. She was the beloved wife of Howell Montague Moss; later, longtime companion of the late Philip W. Leslie; and loving and devoted mother of Robert Ashfield Moss and his wife Carol of Great Falls. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 27th at 11 a.m. at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA. Arrangements by Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA.
