Obituary of Sidney Thomas Gardner

Sidney (Sid) Gardner aged 81, passed away peacefully May 7, 2022 after a brief illness. Sid was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen Gardner, brother Karl, sister Romaine Bundy, and daughter Cheryl (Sherry) Lucas.

Sid retired from Horn Motors in 2008. He enjoyed gardening, fishing at the Riva (Rappahannock River) in Water View, VA, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Washington Redskins. Sid really disliked the name change to the Washington Commanders.

Sid is survived by his wife of 44 years, Phyllis, sons Eric, Richard, Steve, Chuck, daughters, Susan (Fred), and Mable, grandchildren, Steven (Shelby), Shannon (Brandon), Andrew, Bryce, Daisy, great granddaughter, Everleigh, siblings Eddie (Judy), Carolyn (Steve), and Cindy (Michael).

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:30 am on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA. Burial will be at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, VA.
