Great memories with Aunt Helen. We often visited in Washington, DC to go sight seeing. Really good memories. We also visited and toured the White House with her. I always have a connection with her when passing through DC. I also enjoyed the history of the house she lived in, previous occupied by by General Pickett. She appreciated this history too.

I remember the great time we had visiting Helen, Jim, Barbara, Jane and Sally at their home at General Pickett's House. We sang and danced to Mr Bojangles, had a big lunch with 2 big dogs and saw big TT jacked up and running in the back yard.

Aunt Helen was such a giving and caring lady. When I was a young mother and Jerry was in basic training for the Air Force, Helen filled an important role in my life as Lori’s babysitter. She watched her for me during the winter of 1983 on Temple street. Lori loved going to stay at Aunt Helen’s and her dog Pierre house. That was very important to me. She stepped in when I needed her most. Thank you Aunt Helen helping out your young niece. Now you are in heaven joining your loving husbands, parents, brothers and sisters. Much Love. Theresa Forren

We wanted to share our favorite memory of Helen. She was always an amazing energy to be around and you always knew when she was present. Our favorite time was many years ago at Sam’s house and we were attending a family get together. We were also there to celebrate Helen’s birthday. We were gathered around the pool when out comes Helen dressed in a Fourth of July costume, all decked out in red, white and blue! We all busted out with joy and laughter because, that was what you would have expected from Tootsie! We still talk about that from time to time and will keep that memory in our hearts forever! Helen was my Stepmother starting in 1963 when my Dad remarried. My Sisters Jane & Sally lost our Mother-Mary -1956-when we were toddlers. Dad did not marry until he met Helen & her Son-Randy Cooper. I joined the USAF in 1973 and moved all over. My older Sister died in 1991 and younger Sister Sally lives in Northern Virginia. I’ve lived in Washington State since 1993. I stayed in touch with Helen & her Sister Shelby through all the years even though my Dad died in 1974. I visited when I could and loved Helen very much. I miss her and was amazed she lived to almost 101 years old. Her Sister Shelby took wonderful care of her through the last 17 years. Thanks Shelby for taking complete care of her.
