Obituary of Dianne Anderson Kammerer
Dianne Ellen Anderson Kammerer, Ph.D. has graduated one more time. Living too long with too little oxygen was simply not the quality she demanded in her life. Her final graduation was just as she had planned, peaceful and in the home she decorated and loved in Reston, Virginia, at 7:28am on May 13,
2022...Friday the 13th.
Dianne was born in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to Sigvald and Bernice (Lenius) Anderson, who preceded her in death along with her daughter Franchesca. She is survived by Harvey, her husband of more than 56 years, her daughter Ericka (Michael Lamoureux) and grandchildren Adrian, Nicole and Genevieve her brother Byron (Bud) her chosen sister Sharal and a large and colorful group of fabulous friends. Also staying behind for more training are Teddy, Kozbi, McGee, Sigrid and Skye.
Dianne, or "Doc" to her grandchildren, was a spouse, mother, partner, professor, friend, planner, traveler, debater and fun-maker who lived a very full life with all the highs and lows that implies. She could make a home wherever she was and never let blood limit who she considered to be family. Dianne enjoyed sharing celebrations, travel, theater and wine with the people she loved, and no one could have asked for a more fierce or dedicated friend. She successfully navigated a 25-year career as a military spouse while bringing up two accomplished daughters. Dianne had a brilliant intellect and a curious mind that never stopped learning, and as her nest emptied, she returned to college, completing her doctorate in medical sociology at The George Washington University, and teaching at The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. and Marymount College, Arlington, Virginia. There will be no interment or funeral service but plans for a celebration of her wonderful life and the impact she made on us all will be made for a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, Dianne would be honored and pleased if donations were made in her memory to Planned Parenthood (https://www.weareplannedparenthoodaction.org/onlineactions/) or World Central Kitchen (https://donate.wck.org/give/236738/#!/donation/checkout).
