Obituary of Bettyann Fridinger

Please share a memory of Bettyann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Bettyann Alberts Fridinger arrived into this world on January 2,1937 and left May 26, 2022.  What a sweet life it was!  Born in Washington DC to George and Anne Alberts, she grew up in Arlington, VA.  She graduated from Washington-Lee High School, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from George Washington University.  In 1956 she married John Albert Fridinger, and they had one daughter, Holly Marie.

Bettyann and John were an adventurous pair, both earning private pilot’s licenses, as well as traveling the world.  She made a career of the Federal Government, starting as a secretary and retiring as a defense analyst with the Defense Intelligence Agency.  Bettyann was an accomplished artist, specializing in oil painting.  Upon retirement, Bettyann used her artistic talent and love of dolls to start a business, The Doll Godmother.  She restored clients antique dolls, even porcelain ones that had been shattered.

Bettyann loved champagne, vodka, and movies from the Golden Age of Hollywood.  After becoming windowed in 2009 after 52 years of marriage, Bettyann’s greatest joy was visiting her daughter and family every Sunday for a delicious home cooked meal.  She will be greatly missed by her family and in the final year of her life, the caring staff at Sunrise Reston.

Bettyann is survived by her daughter Holly Marie Bratcher, her son in law Steven Bratcher, her two grandsons Andrew and Scott, and her dog Misty.

Please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Loudoun County Animal Shelter.
