Miss Bradley was my P-E teacher at O’Connell HS. I shall always remember her smile and her words of encouragement during my High School years. She really cared about her students and she she was a great teacher and a model of excellence in the educational field. I have great memories of her and Miss Kirk laughing with us and helping us to enjoy our P-E time. I was hoping that we would be able to see her at our 50th reunion this year. I know she will be smiling down at all of us during our reunion. She was one of the great ones! My condolences and deepest sympathy to her family .

Professional, knowledgeable, patient, approachable, and fun to be with, Carolyn Sue Bradley – Miss Bradley is and will remain my favorite teacher. The best ever from first grade through 12th, undergrad, and postgraduate universities as well. My inspiration for the educator I became.
Miss Bradley was the rock I turned to during the tumultuous adolescent years I spent at O’Connell High. Years full of emotional rife with outside influences of Vietnam, era counterculture; inside with strife of becoming my own person and total abhorrence for the Catholic Church. I spent hours in Miss Bradley’s office discussing life, liberty, and pursuit of FUN as more than anything else, she knew life should not be total seriousness - it should be FUN.
I have many stories but the one that illustrates how she could relate, enjoy being with us, yet also defend & protect her students was when I was in her last period PE/Health class freshman year. We all conspired to throw her into the showers on the last day of regular school. Miss Bradley was a tiny lady so it was easy for us to accomplish this great sport and she protested but laughed heartily with all of us – 15yo girls shrieking with glee.
All of a sudden Mrs. Bergen - the gym teacher with the most seniority storms into the showers! She loudly yells for us to cease & desist as she is going to write us all up, she is calling in Mother Superior, the *National Guard, President Nixon, J Edgar Hoover, etc. Whoever Mrs. Bergen invoked was enough to stop and terrify us with thoughts of expulsion...
Then the little wet lady in the middle of us piped up with a mighty roar, melting The Ice Bergen, forcing her to step back several paces, turn quickly and leave the locker room. What Miss Bradley loudly stated has resonated in my memory ever since:
These are MY girls in MY class! These are MY girls! Do not speak to MY girls in that tone! Do not threaten MY girls!
Carolyn Sue Bradley has been MY hero ever since.
Rest peacefully, MY Lady.

My condolences to the family, and may her passing have been a gentle one. She was greatly loved at Bishop Denis J. O'Connell High School, where she was the PE teacher. She was so much fun and a joy to be around. She will be missed.

Ms Bradley was my gym teacher at O'Connell High School, where I graduated in 1972. We all loved her very much. She had a great sense of humor and was so down to earth. She so much nicer and far more intelligent than many of the other instructors at that school. Everyone loved going to her classes. She was so much fun, too. Once a year we all had a week where were were taught 'alternative' courses and were allowed to wear regular clothes to school instead of our school uniforms. Ms Bradley came to school wearing an O'Connell school uniform, much to our delight. She was one of "us" not "them".
We will miss you, Ms Bradley. Now your smile is brightening a far better existence than the one here on earth. May your journey be sweet and filled with love.
