Obituary of Saritha Gillala

It is with saddest regret that we announce the passing away of Saritha Gillala age 47 on June 23^rd, 2022, surrounded by her family at the StoneSprings Hospital. She is survived by her husband Anil Pasupula, daughter Asmitha Pasupula, parents Krishna Rao Gillala and Bharathi Devi Gillala, sisters, brothers in law, nieces, nephews and large group of extended family and friends.

Saritha is the most kind-hearted, gentle, brave, quirky, quick-witted, loving and most loved person and a staunch devotee of Sai Baba. She loved nature and wildlife and enjoyed the company of all the different birds that would arrive to her numerous bird feeders throughout the day. She loved gardening and filled her house with plants which brought a lot of satisfaction and a huge smile on her face. Cooking was one of her biggest passions and she would not let anyone leave without their tummies full. Her biggest passion was charity. She contributed to charity whenever she could and would always encourage everyone to help others.

Her ALS diagnosis devasted her family, but her strength and willpower encouraged us to fight and help her fight it for almost 6 years. There was hardly a day where she would be sad or discouraged and would always have a smile on her face. She is finally free from this devastating disease, and we are happy that she won in the end. Though the disease took her ability to walk, move, or eat, it could not take her infectious smile or her strength away. She strived to be independent through this and did the best to care for her daughter in every possible way. She found a lot of peace and comfort in Sai Baba and completely gave herself to Baba and his commandments. Her belief in Sai Baba never ended and made her face every turmoil bravely.

We know you are in a better place now, Saritha. You will be with us forever and in our memories and we will always love you. Rest in Peace in the arms of Sai Baba.
