Obituary of Corazon Descallar Murphy

Corazon D. "Sony" Murphy, age 64, of Herndon, VA died on January 26, 2009 at Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, VA. She was born on June 13, 1944 in the Philippines. Sony worked as an accountant technician for Informatics and ORI, both in Rockville, MD. Sony was the beloved wife of 40 years of Gerald "Jerry" W. Murphy, loving mother of Major James Murphy and his wife Katie of Fredericksburg, VA and Keith Murphy of Fairfax, VA, daughter of Paciencia Descallar of Bohol, Philippines and the late Leoncio E. Descallar, sister of Victoria, Sister Natividad, Felomena, Catalina and Lucita, proud grandmother of Emily, Sarah and Hannah, sister-in-law of Nan Harllee and her husband Jack and Brian Murphy and his wife Emma. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 1 st from 5-7pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 3 rd at 11am at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, VA.
