Obituary of Dawn Fletcher Waters
Dawn Waters, 58, of Herndon, passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her beloved husband and pets, after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband, Gregg, her father, Jack Fletcher, her brother, Doug, her pets, and an incredible group of friends. Dawn was a lifelong resident of Herndon. She worked in the banking industry and later as a dog walker. Dawn met Gregg in 1987 and they married in 1991. As a couple, they enjoyed traveling, going to concerts, cooking and trying new restaurants. Dawn was known for her love of animals. She was particularly fond of squirrels, and had many squirrels who would come eat peanuts from her hand. Her pets were her fur babies. More than a few of her friends commented, if they were reincarnated, they would like to come back as one of her pets. She also enjoyed crafts, creating jewelry and dog collars as gifts for friends. The past couple years, Dawn loved to spend weekends at a second home in West Virginia, which was surrounded with deer, birds, and the occasional bear. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org).
