Obituary of Raymond Mangune Bulaclac
Raymond “Ray” Mangune Bulaclac, 32, passed away Friday, August 19 at his home in Herndon, VA.
Ray was born July 23, 1990 in Chesapeake, VA where he attended Western Branch High School. He continued his education at George Mason University, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. After graduation, he mostly stayed in the Northern Virginia area, outside of a year in Atlanta, GA where he would meet the love of his life.
Nicknamed “Babycakes” by many who loved him in the gaming communities, Ray valued community and bringing people together. He founded an organization called D.C. Esports, which specialized in hosting esports events around the D.C. Metro area. He also volunteered his time with other various organizations to help run events as large as 2000+ people. Ray was also a passionate member of the sports card community and was well known for helping introduce others to the hobby. In his spare time, he loved bringing his friends together at concerts, restaurants, and whatever exciting event was next on the calendar. Ray made every event and gathering better with his great sense of humor and loving personality.
Ray is survived by his parents Ricardo and Erlinda Bulaclac of Las Vegas, NV; older brothers, Richard Bulaclac of Louisville, KY and Ryan Bulaclac of Brooklyn, NY; fiancée Sarah Nelson of Cumming, GA; labrador retriever Houston; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26 from 5:00-8:00PM at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, VA. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27 at 12:00PM at St. Veronica Catholic Church in Chantilly, VA. There will be a reception following the funeral service at Piero’s Corner Ristorante in Herndon, VA beginning at 1:30PM.
A second service will be held on Tuesday, August 30 at 12:00PM at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel (located inside of Colonial Grove Memorial Park) in Virginia Beach, VA. Burial will follow this service at 2:00PM.
