Obituary of Carla Jane Burns

December 1, 1935-August 28, 2022

 

Carla Jane Burns, 86, of Sterling, Virginia passed away peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness.  Carla was born in West Plains, Missouri, the daughter of Hazel Faye (Robertson) and Carl V. Mullins.  The family moved to the Northern Virginia area shortly after her birth. 

Carla is predeceased by her parents and a brother, James Mullins.  She is survived by her husband, Donald Burns, as well as children Cindy (Ed), Kathy and Mike.  Carla also leaves grandchildren Carrick, Lila Jane, Emma, Michael (Lauren, Milena), and Daniel.  She was recently blessed to meet her first great grandson Jackson.

 

In addition to her family, Carla was a lover of all creatures great and small, an avid gardener, music lover, and was concerned with protecting all that Mother Nature provides to us on this Earth.

 

Carla will be interred according to her wishes in a private family ceremony in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers or other remembrance, she would be tickled if you chose to make a donation to the Loudoun County Humane Society or The Nature Conservancy in her honor.
