My deepest condolences to Mary and family!! As you know Patrick was a special guy. I've had the honor of working very closely with him since he arrived. During our time together I've worn several different hats, and had several different roles but regardless of what that role was, I could ALWAYS count on his support!!! I found out later that he even spoke some positive words on my behalf to our manager at the time about how he thought what a good job I was doing while filling in for her. He didn't have to do that and that meant a lot. I felt I could ask him about anything, not just computer-related things. Whether it was reminiscing about old commercials and tv shows or schooling our younger colleagues about music and pop culture, he knew it all!! Patrick kept me on my toes. If I sent an email or some other communication Pat was sure to make fun of me (in a good way) for leaving a word out that now made the sentence not make sense. You can bet the next time I sent something I was re-reading, proofreading, and looking for any mistakes that Patrick might find. He kept me on point. He kept me on my toes! How about when some of those same communications were sent to his personal email because I didn't pay close enough attention when sending it out and sent it to his personal email instead of the work one? That made me pay more attention after that happened a few times. Those are just some of the many things I will miss about him. I can't thank you enough Patrick for the tremendous help you have been to me !! I miss you pal !!! And yes I did proofread this! :) God Bless you Mary and Yamasaki family !!!

I send my deepest condolences to Patrick's family. I have only known Patrick since January of this year. But since the day I came onboard at USGS. He welcomed me with opened arms and any information or resources I needed. He was always there to provide it to me. I must say, he will be deeply missed.
