Obituary of Dolores K. Lally

Dolores Lally, 78, of Sterling, VA, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, October 5.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Stephen Kollarik, and her brother David. She is survived by her two daughters Tracey Downing and Erin Lally Reed, six grandchildren, Kathryn Downing, Austin Downing, Sophie Downing, Jacob Downing, Michael Fitzgerald Reed, Alessandra Reed, and several nieces and nephews.

Dolores grew up in Chicago and graduated from Kelly High School in 1962, where she was a member of the U. S. History Class, Clothing Class, volleyball team, and GAA. She attended the University of Chicago and lived in northern Virginia after graduating. Dolores married Lance Lally in 1966 and spent the rest of her life in northern Virginia serving as a secretary for the AFL-CIO in Washington, DC, Long & Foster, and St. Johns Catholic Church.

A viewing will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St., Herndon, VA 20170, on Wednesday, October 12 from 5-8 pm and a funeral mass will be held the following day at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 46833 Harry Byrd Hwy, Sterling, VA 20164, on Thursday, October 13 at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
