Obituary of Janice Lynn Smith

Please share a memory of Janice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Janice Smith passed away at home in Round Hill, Virginia on Sunday, October 9, 2022

Janice is preceded in death by her father, Alfred F. Picarelli.  She is survived by her husband, Dennis, her two sons David and Anthony, her mother Judith Picarelli and sister Denise Picarelli.

It is hard to believe that over the course of 30 days, Janice was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma that ultimately took her life at 48 years young.  Despite knowing she had a large, aggressive, and inoperable brain tumor, Janice maintained that witty and sarcastic sense of humor while dealing with the prognosis - tears were not allowed and serious talk was shut down quickly.  Always kind-hearted, Janice put others (including her dogs) before herself.

Janice was generous, determined and funny in all aspects of life.  With her lighthearted attitude, sarcastic grin and infectious laugh Janice could get a chuckle out of anyone including the most serious. On any given day, Janice would be found singing to 80's rock, spoiling her boys & dogs and cursing up a storm.

To say that Janice will be missed is an understatement.
