Obituary of H. Anne Welkener

Anne Welkener passed away peacefully in Leesburg, VA on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the age of 82.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Ed Welkener.  

 

Anne is survived by her loving daughters Karen Hidalgo, her husband Joseph and Kelley Mosier; brother Wally Diller and his wife Betsy, sisters Margaret Kuhn and Charline Allen.  She also had the most amazing grandchildren, Christopher Hidalgo and his wife Darci, Courtney Hidalgo and her partner Gabriel Santos, Kelsie Grigg and her husband Marc; and Zachary Neely.

 

Anne was born in Washington D.C. and spent most of her life in the D.C. area.  She was an accountant for Telcom, Inc. and finished her career working for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in grants management.

 

She loved to read and paint but her main passion was her children and grandchildren.  She moved to Punta Gorda Florida in 2020 and just loved watching the water and feeding her birds and bunnies.  She was also an avid cat lover.

 

A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date.
