Obituary of Wanda Marie Cave

Wanda Marie Cave of Herndon, Va, passed away peacefully at a memory care facility while under hospice care. She passed on Monday Oct 31 2022.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, sister Pat, her parakeets Harry and Robbie, and her dogs Becky, Max, Casey, Rocky, and Lily. She is survived by her husband Ulo Pulles, sisters Norma Allen and Mimi Schirmacher, brother Curtis Cave plus three nephews, two nieces and her dog Sam.

Wanda was born in Washington DC and grew up in the Virginia Hills neighborhood of Alexandria. She started working part time at Cameron Station, Alexandria for DOD while still in high school. After returning from Wisconsin, Wanda went to work for ATT where she met her husband Ulo Pulles. Wanda and Ulo were married in 1985. Wanda returned to work at DOD in 1991 and retired in 2010. They were scuba divers, cross country skiers, and bird watchers. Together they had two parakeets, 6 dogs, and no children.   

Family and friends are asked to meet at the Mount Comfort Cemetery chapel at 11 AM on Thursday Nov 10. Attendees can share their remembrance of her life. Burial will follow at the cemetery, a short drive from the chapel.

Mount Comfort Cemetery is located at 6600 S Kings Hwy, Alexandria, VA .

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the local animal shelter. Also, thank the staff at Great Falls Assisted Living for the care they provided to Wanda.
