Obituary of Helen Frances Ipsaro
HELEN FRANCES IPSARO of Ashburn, VA passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022. Helen leaves behind a loving and caring family and a legacy of love and cherished memories to many, including lifelong friends. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles “Chuck” Ipsaro, her son Michael (Maggie), and her grandson, Mark. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Joyce, as well as her mother, Edie, and father, Emmett.
Raised in Alexandria, VA, she was the eldest of four children, and she is survived by her sisters, Judy Andrews, Lin Rose, and Sue Cusson, and their families, including a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Herndon, VA where she taught third grade Sunday School, and in later years at Christ Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, VA. She also was as an administrative professional with the Federal Government, serving at the General Services Administration, and also at the United States Geological Survey, where she worked in public relations.
Family and friends will be received at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, VA at 10:00 am on Friday, December 30, 2022, immediately followed by a funeral service (and subsequent burial at nearby Chestnut Grove Cemetery) to celebrate Helen’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Helen’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter.
