Obituary of Shyam Prasad Srivastava
Shyam Srivastava 92, of Fairfax, VA passed away peacefully due to a sudden heart failure. He was surrounded by his loving family at his residence.
Shyam was preceded in death by his wife Saroj and all three brothers. He was survived by his two children, son Alok Srivastava and daughter Rashmi Srivastava, granddaughter Aditi, her husband Christopher and grandsons Vibhuti and Aditya and Rashmi’s husband Vinay Kumar. He has several nieces and nephews in the area.
Shyam was born in the holy Hindu city of Varanasi In India. He did his bachelors from Allahabad University and master’s from Varanasi. He married Saroj Srivastava in Yr. 1956. He worked as Probation Officer with the Social Welfare Department dedicated his life to giving a second chance to offenders saving them from prisons. He has moved and lived in many towns in Uttar Pradesh. He migrated to the USA in Yr. 1997. He was associated with the Rajdhani Mandir Hindu Temple in Chantilly, VA.
Funeral Services/Cremation will be held on Friday Jan. 13th from 10AM to 12PM. Terahvin (the thirteenth day ceremony) will be held at Rajdhani Mandir Chantilly VA on Saturday January 21st from 4PM-6PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rajdhani Mandir.
