Obituary of Frances Dolores Vest

Frances D. Vest, Mom was also known as Doe-Doe, of Sterling, VA passed away at the age of 94 on January 20,2023 at Poets Walk Memory Care assisted living in Leesburg, VA after a long illness.

Frances was born on July 26, 1928 in Lynchburg, VA. She was the daughter of the late Leniel Branchford Doss and the late Bessie Lee Doss.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Wilson Vest in 2000 and her sister Helen Coffey and her brother James Branchford Doss.

She is survived by her children Brian Vest and wife Debra of Sterling,VA. Kevin Vest and wife Wendy of Lovettesville, VA and Jeffrey Vest of Sterling, VA.  She is also survived by 3 grandchildren Travis Vest, Katelyn Vest and Andrew Vest. One sister Gloria Doss of Lynchburg, VA also survives her.

Frances was a homemaker.  She was a charter member of Sterling Park Baptist Church in 1964.  Our family was also one of the first families of Sterling Park in 1964.  Frances always put others above herself.  She was always there for her children, grandchildren and friends.  She fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith.  After fulfilling God's purpose for her life, mom is safely home now.  

We would like to thank all the staff at Poet's Walk memory care that took care of mom during her last few months of life.  We would also like to thank Dr. Sarma at Virginia Cancer Specialists for his care and compassion over the last four years.

In lieu of flowers the family requested contributions be made to Capital Caring Hospice Health who did a wonderful job taking care of mom in her last two months.

There will be a visitation for Frances on Friday January 27 from 10:00am - 11:00am.  A memorial service will follow from 11:00am - 12:00pm . Visitation and the service will be held at Adams Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA.  A graveside service will be at 12:30pm at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, 831 Dranesville Road, Herndon, VA.
