Obituary of Jacqueline Aldine Schultes

Please share a memory of Jacqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Schultes, retired dietitian and long-time Great Falls resident, dies at 73.

A proud Wisconsin native, Jacqueline Aldine Iding Schultes was an alumnus of Brookfield Central High School in Brookfield, WI and San Diego State University (SDSU) in San Diego, CA.

After graduating from SDSU with honors, she worked for the Veterans Health Administration and University Hospitals. In the following years, she later served as a dietetic consultant for a number of nonprofits, businesses, and individuals. She was a member of the American Dietetic Association, Phi Upsilon Omicron, and the Honorary Scholastic Fraternity.

Schultes was active in the Great Falls, VA community, where she lived for over thirty years and raised her children with her husband of 44 years, Ernst Ulrich Alexander “Alex” Schultes. She was an early member of the Women’s Club of Great Falls, and belonged to a number of bridge clubs, book clubs, bible study groups, and P.E.O. International.

She had a green thumb and absolutely loved working in her garden. She spent her retirement years touring  arboretums and botanical collections throughout the United States and Europe.

Schultes was the eldest daughter of Julianne Paschen James and Jackson Iding.

Surviving Jackie are her mother Julie James, brother and wife James and Joyce Iding, and sister Tory James. She is also survived by her two children, Alex and Lyn, and three granddaughters Chloe, Jenna, and Alina.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Jackie’s memory to the P.E.O. philanthropic organization where women celebrate, educate, and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations: https://donations.peointernational.org/
